LUK Names Beth Barto New CEO
FITCHBURG – LUK, Inc., a nonprofit human services agency providing support for children and families since 1970, has recently announced that their nation-wide search for a Chief Executive Officer has come to a close, and is proud to announce Beth Barto, LMHC, as CEO.
Ms. Barto has been employed with LUK since 2006, and currently serves as the Director of Quality Assurance and Director of Trauma Services. During her tenure with LUK, Ms. Barto has served as the project leader for the Central Massachusetts Child Trauma Center and the Massachusetts Child Trauma Project. Having worked as Clinical Supervisor in LUK’s placement services, Director of Residential Services, and Director of Family Networks, Ms. Barto has a true appreciation for the variety of LUK services and the challenges and opportunities presented to staff at all levels of the agency. Ms. Barto is well-respected in the clinical field demonstrating her passion towards infusing trauma informed care into systems and sharing her expertise through her leadership in the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. In addition to her leadership responsibilities for LUK, Ms. Barto presents regularly at a local and national level on topics related to childhood trauma and has disseminated her work through peer reviewed publications.
LUK has been led by Dr. David Hamolsky, A 35-year LUK employee since July when Mr. Richard Hooks Wayman vacated his position to join the Children’s Defense Fund in Washington, D.C. as their National Executive Director. Ms. Barto will begin serving as CEO on January 1, 2017, and Dr. Hamolsky will return to his post as Clinical Director, a position he has held since 2010.
