LUK has been offering accredited community-based Adventure Programming for youth and young adult populations since 2006, but outdoor education has been in our roots since the 1980s! We are proud to offer Adventure-Based Experiential Learning programs and activities that are fun, educational, and therapeutic for youth of all ages and abilities.
LUK’s Adventure-Based programs are trusted by the Department of Children and Families, Department of Developmental Services, Department of Mental Health, and more to serve neurodivergent youth and young adults, and have been COA accredited since 2006. LUK is also a member of the Association of Experiential Education (AEE), and our staff are experienced working with youth with a range of abilities, behaviors, and communication styles. * In addition to paid programs, LUK offers a variety of adventure-based services through DCF, DDS, DMH, and DPH. This includes programs for foster youth, youth involved with DDS, and youth ages 12-24 who have been impacted by, or are currently struggling with, substance use/misuse. Program Offerings
Challenge Courses
Build teamwork, problem-solving skills, and resilience on the challenge course! We have access to a variety of high- and low-ropes course elements, and we can customize your experience to best fit your group’s unique needs.

Boating
Head out on the water for a natural adventure! We have canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards available. Learn navigation skills, enjoy a calming sensory experience, and improve strength and motor skills.

Snow Sports
The fun doesn’t stop when the weather gets cold! Hit the slopes on a snowboard or skis, explore local trails on a winter hike, or try out snow shoeing. Snow Sports are a great way for youth to get their blood pumping, work on motor skills, and have some quality outdoor fun in the winter.

Climbing
Learn, explore, and build new skills while climbing on real rock! We have access to local crags for single-pitch top rope climbing, bouldering, and rappelling. We can also partner with local indoor climbing gyms if preferred. Both natural and indoor rock climbing teach youth to stick through problems, be patient, and practice safe and healthy risk-taking.

Pricing and What’s Included
LUK Adventure outings are priced per participant, and chaperones/aides are welcome to attend at no additional charge. Outings range from 4 to 8 hours, depending on location and activity type. In addition to participation in activities, our pricing also includes:

*Renting specialty adaptive equipment may require an additional fee.
Who we work with
We primarily work with neurodivergent youth and young adults. This includes individuals with developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, learning differences, social/pragmatic communication disorder, and Autism, as well as any youth who would benefit from adaptive and supportive activities.
The minimum age to participate varies by outing type. Our oldest participants are usually in their mid-twenties, and we can accommodate up to age 30.
