About Youth Mental Health First Aid

Just like regular first aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid is a way for adults (18+) who work with and/or care for young people (under 18) to help in times of crisis until there can be professional help. Learn how to:

  • Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental illness
  • Listen effectively
  • Offer reassurance
  • Provide information based on their needs (social support, professional help, or crisis management)
  • Handle a potential crisis

Learn more about YMHFA and other trainings offered by the LUK Community Training Academy here. We currently offer a variety of free trainings to organizations in North Central MA and the Nashoba Valley region.

*This training is free in Nashoba Valley thanks in part to the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.*
