Young Adult Peer Mentor of Flexible Support Services (Fitchburg) - Recommended Qualifications: Lived experience of living with and recovering from mental health needs, substance use, and/or traumatic life concerns. Must have at least two years’ experience as a Young Adult Peer Mentor; or, has successfully completed an advanced peer to peer training program; or, has at least one year of experience providing supervision; or, has a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field. Responsibilities include: Provide supportive services to youth, and young adults in a community based setting, Share personal experiences with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation, Collaborate with children, youth, young adults, and families and other team members such as DMH as a member of the Treatment Team to ensure that the youth and young adults vision and goals guide treatment decisions, Support youth and young adults to communicate effectively and foster their communication skills, Support youth and young adults to identify their strengths, Role model and support youth and young adults to share their story safely and effectively, Promote self-care through modeling healthy habits and sharing resources and strategies, and link youth and young adults to community resources, such as Young Adult Resource Centers
