Decisions about services and supports for people with disabilities are made based on funding\, geography\, and availability. Service providers are bound by regulations\, budgets\, and geographic boundaries. We hear of the phrase “person centered” but it is misunderstood and misused. We cannot change the systems overnight\, but we can shift our perspective\, language and actions so that conversations and decisions are about dignity\, joy\, and opportunity in life for the people that we love. In this workshop\, we will discuss how we can be person-centered in a system-centered world.” \nThe LUK Families Connected Family Resource Center is a supportive\, multicultural resource for North Central MA families.
