SUMMARY:Overdose Lifeline: Free Training
DESCRIPTION:This FREE Overdose Lifeline training equips individuals with essential skills to respond to opioid overdoses effectively. Participants learn how to recognize the signs of overdose\, administer naloxone (a medication that reverses opioid overdoses)\, and provide life-saving support until professional medical help arrives. This training empowers communities to combat the opioid crisis by enabling fast and informed responses to overdose emergencies. People attending the training will also get a free naloxone overdose response kit\, complete with Personal Protective equipment\, naloxone\, and instructions. \nThis in-person training at the LUK Main Office is recommended for ages 16+. Registration is required. Please email NODE@LUK.org to register\, or call 800-579-0000 and ask for NODE. \nPresented by LUK’s Community Training Academy and LUK’s NODE (Naloxone Outreach for Drug Emergencies) program. SUMMARY:Suicide Prevention: Free QPR Training
DESCRIPTION:Join the LUK Community Training Academy for this free QPR Suicide Prevention training! This training is open to anyone age 16+ who wants to learn how to prevent suicide. \nThis training takes place in-person at LUK’s Main Office (545 Westminster Street\, Fitchburg\, MA). Registration is greatly appreciated\, but drop-ins are also welcome. Email Training@LUK.org to register or with any questions. \nAbout QPR Suicide Prevention Training\nQPR (Question\, Persuade\, Refer) is a simple and effective suicide prevention training for community members who are 16 or older. In just about an hour\, you’ll learn how to recognize warning signs of suicide\, how to ask someone if they’re thinking about suicide\, how to persuade them to get help\, and how to refer them to the right support. Just like CPR\, anyone can learn it\, and it can help save a life. Participants are certified in QPR upon completion of the training. \nLearn more about QPR and other trainings offered by the LUK Community Training Academy here. We currently offer a variety of free trainings to organizations in North Central MA and the Nashoba Valley region.
