Pumpkin Painting Party - Thursday, October 21 at 4-6 pm

Join us for free pumpkin painting at Barett Park (40 Barrett Parkway, Leominster)! We provide everything, just bring your creativitiy. Registration is required ahead of time and can be completed here. Space is limited to 20 participants, each person who wants to paint must be registered. Parent/guardian must be in attendance.

 

Teen Sunset Hike - Wednesday, October 27 at 4-6 pm

Join us for a guided sunset walk before Halloween! Please meet at Echo Lake Trail (82 Westminster Rd., Princeton). Costume and spooky stories optional, this event is intended for ages 14-18. Registration is required ahead of time and can be completed here. Space is limited to 12 participants. 

 

Storytime with Local Heroes: Firefighter- Friday, October 29 at 10:30-11:30 am

Join us during Fire Prevention Month at the Fitchburg Public Library for a Storytime with Fitchburg firefighter Lieutenant Greg Morin! This story is appropriate for ages 2-7 and includes an activity following the reading. 

The first 10 youth to attend will receive a copy Clifford the Firehouse Dog or Jorge el curiouso y los bomberos/Curious George and the Firefighters. Parent/guardian must be in attendance.

 

Trunk or Treat - Friday, October 29 at 4:00-6:00 pm

Trick or treat from one trunk to the next at LUK's Main Office (545 Westminster Street)! Costumes encouraged, no registration required. Parent/guardian must be in attendance. Please park at 545 Westminster Street, next to the brick building.

Join us for a free movie and snack during April vacation! Two options will be provided:

Animal Adventures

Join us for a free Animal Adventures show during April vacation!

Kayaking

Join us on Thursday, May 6 for a fun afternoon of kayaking at Leominster State Forest! Please arrive between 3:00-3:30 pm.

Challenge Course

Looking for a weekend activity with your family or friends? Join us on Saturday, May 22 at 1 pm for a fun Challenge Course!

Registration is required ahead of time and can be completed here.Space is limited to 15 participants, each family member must be registered. Parent/guardian must be in attendance.

Marking one year since the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, families, educators, and medical staff have navigated a tremendous amount of stress that flooded all aspects of daily life. We will be offering a few different coping groups for the following populations:

Suicide Prevention Training: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR)

We can all help prevent suicide. Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) is an hour-long training to help learn and recognize signs of a suicidal crisis. QPR is for everyone 18+. These sessions will be held virtually in Spanish and English.

Registration is required ahead of time and can be completed here. 

 

Worcester Smiles Soccer Clinic & Games - Saturday, June 12 at 4:30 pm

Join us for a Worcester Smiles FC soccer clinic and game! Included with registration is a soccer ball, children's t-shirt, and one (1) youth and one (1) adult ticket to game following clinic.

Athol Library Summer Reading Kickoff - Friday, June 18 at 11 am-1 pm

Join us at the Athol Public Library for an activity box giveaway and their summer reading kickoff! These boxes feature activities for ages 4-6, 7-11, and 12-15. This outdoor, socially distanced event is self-paced—drop in whenever you like to sign up for summer reading, collect take-home crafts, check out our book giveaway, play games, take a picture with a dinosaur, and more!

Thanks to the Friends of the Athol Public Library, this event is entirely free and open to the public. 
 

Active Bystander Training - Tuesday, June 22 at 6 pm 

If you are a bystander witnessing a harmful situation, you have a choice to make. Do you do something? What do you do?

The active bystander training helps participants recognize when they are bystanders, analyze situations, and evaluate the consequences for everyone involved. It teaches how bystanders can interrupt harmdoing and generate positive actions by others. This training is appropriate for anyone ages 12+.

Bigelow Library Amazing Alpacas - Thursday, June 24 at 10:30 am

Join us at the Bigelow Free Public Library for an Amazing Alpacas meet and greet and activity box giveaway. Meet a couple of alpacas from In the Meadow Farm -- learn some fun facts & alpaca awesomeness.

 

Picnic in the Park - Thursday, July 8 at 11 am- 2pm

Join us for a free picnic in the park at Coggshall Park! Participate in a scavenger hunt and Animal Adventures show. Each guest will receive a boxed Subway lunch. Registration is required ahead of time and can be completed here. Space is limited to 48 participants, each family member must be registered. Parent/guardian must be in attendance. 

 

Mini Golf and Ice Cream - Thursday, July 15 at 5 pm

Enjoy mini-golf and ice cream on us! Mini golf will be at Mulligan's Miniature Golf, each guest will receive a gift card to Rota Spring Farm for ice cream.

Join us at Greater Gardner and Leominster's National Night Out (NNO)! NNO is a great way to gather resources on drug and crime prevention while also having family fun in your community! Consider attending either of these events or find one in your local community here.

Join us at the Fitchburg Public Library for a Storytime with our very own Occupational Therapist and Therapists! This story is appropriate for ages 2-7 and includes an activity following the reading. 

The first 20 youth to register will receive a free pack of crayons and a copy of Breathing Makes It Better: A Book for Sad Days, Mad Days, Glad Days, and All the Feelings In-Between by Christopher Willard and Wendy O'Leary. Giveaway registration can be completed here. Parent/guardian must be in attendance.

Climbing at Crow Hill Ledges - Friday, August 13 at 10 am

Join us for a fun afternoon of rock climbing at Crow Hill Ledges! This event is for everyone, regardless of skill level.  

Registration is required ahead of time and can be completed here. Space is limited to 15 participants, parent/guardian must be in attendance and sign an additional waiver. 

 

Common Ground Basketball Tournament - Saturday, August 14 at 10 am

Join us for our 22nd Annual Common Ground Basketball Tournament! We will have basketball, music, and information tables. The Common Ground Basketball Tournament promotes awareness of youth violence prevention efforts and brings together neighborhoods and community leaders throughout Fitchburg. 

 

Mini Golf and Ice Cream - Saturday, August 14 at 5 pm

Kayaking & Fishing - Friday, August 20 at 3 pm

Join us for a few hours of kayaking and fishing at Tully Late in Royalston, MA! We will have gear for kids of all ages (up to 20). Children under the age of 15 do not require a license to fish, while ages 15-17 may register in advance to fish. Please be sure to bring a copy of your fishing license if you are over the age of 15.

COVID Vaccine Clinic & School Supply Giveaway - Wednesday, September 1 at 1-4 pm

Get ready to head back to school at the Spanish American Center's COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Wednesday, September 1 from 1-4 pm. Clinic and supply giveaway will be held at 112 Spruce St, Leominster. For more information, please call (978) 534-3145.
