CMCHC

The Central Massachusetts Center for Healthy Communities is a program of LUK, Inc. The CMCHC is primarily funded by the Department of Public Health in coordination with the Office of Healthy Communities and the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, to assist communities and organizations in developing effective substance abuse prevention strategies for the greater well being of their residents
 
The Central Massachusetts Center for Healthy Communities is your partner in building healthy communities. We are committed to supporting positive community change and social justice to reduce health disparities.
 
Our mission is to provide resources and technical assistance in partnership with sustainable healthy community initiatives through environmental and science-based approaches to reduce substance abuse among youth and young adults throughout the Central MA region.  Youth are acknowledged as key allies and assets in furthering this mission.


Our Goals
· Promote partnership among regional and local public health leaders.
· Collaborate with communities to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs particularly among youth and young adults.
· Mobilize youth and young adults for leadership and civic action.
       
What We Offer
We offer a range of services that support prevention and health promotion efforts. Our focus is on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention and violence prevention.

Who We Serve
The CMCHC partners with community groups and coalitions, which are comprised of a diverse cross-section of the community.  Members of these groups may include educators, health and human service providers, local government, youth, business people, clergy, law enforcement personnel, members of the general community and other community leaders for 66 cities and towns throughout Central Massachusetts.
